God has not given you equal rights

In the image “God has not given you equal rights”, the message that is being conveyed is how women in Afghanistan have no rights compared to men in Afghanistan. Women struggle to gain freedom in a male dominant society. This image is showing us how she is  being forced to wear a burqa which covers her body and most of her face when she is in public. It is also show us how men can walk down the streets wearing whatever they want, while not noticing the women around then. To add, this image was taken about a year so therefore this shows that women are still not equal to men and  which goes to us how lucky most  women are to live in North America. A textual element being used in this image is “background”, because it shows how women are closed off from society and are not given any freedom. They are being forced to wear burqa, to hide and isolated themselves from society or else they are beaten. To conclude, this image is a great example of how women have to obey to men and have no rights.

Women in Afghanistan: An analysis of the image "God has not given you equal rights"

This image displays the inequality women face in Afghanistan and proves that women are not considered to be equal to the men in that country. This message is most clearly proven through the body language of the subjects in the image. The focus of the image is on the woman as she is in the center, however she is facing away from the camera suggesting she is not allowed to be caught on camera. Not only that, but the woman appears to be hunched over and keeping her head down, suggesting that she is not supposed to make eye contact with the approaching men as women in Afghanistan are not considered equal to men. Also the men in this image are walking tall and right towards the woman as if they believe they are better than her and hold power over her. To conclude the body language of the subjects in this image clearly prove that women are not considered to be equal to men in Afghanistan.
God has not given you equal right

The message is that women aren’t given as many rights as men are. the picture shows that all of the women’s skin is covered but all the men around her are wearing their regular clothes. The woman’s head is covered by her burka but the men either wear nothing or a hat on there head. A textual element from this image is background. The background shows where they are in the world and the Attitude of the people around the picture also show where they could be located and why they are dressed the way they are. This image is important because it shows how still in some countries, women are still treated poorly based on what has happened in the past. Not so much here in canada but in these middle eastern countries women are required to only wear certain things and only do certain jobs
" God has not given you Equal Rights"

Many of you have heard about the atrocities committed in other countries. Stories in the news come and go, and it seems like the world just keeps on getting worse. While that is not true, groups of people, race, ethnicity, gender, culture, religion, and many more, are continually put down before others in power.

Take gender, for example. In many countries throughout the world, women are seen as a lower class. They are given less rights, less opportunity, and are treated as if they are not human. This is reflective of the fact that many people in power put down women from a basis of religion or culture.

Imagery has always been a powerful medium.. I am here today to show you exactly how to show this fact.women_burka.jpg

This picture is titled " God has not Given you Equal Rights".

But is that really the fact?

I believe that men in power use religion as a basis to create rules that a society must follow.

This idea is more than proven in this picture, because it is the picture. The main focus of this picture, the middle ground, it exactly this point. It is a symbol, a representation, of the fact that woman are put down. It is the whole focus of this picture. The men are free to be open and wear what they would like, while women are forced to hide their attitude and life behind a sheet of clothing.

This helps demonstrate my idea that men in power are the ones who create rules. If women are forced to hide, who's fault is it really? It is the men's fault. This picture demonstrates this through their use of focus, clothing, and attitude. The men in their own clothing surround the women who are forced  to cover up. In this country, it is said religion is the cause of this attitude, but I believe it is the men who take advantage of people's beliefs to have power over gender, and their roles. If this was not a problem, then pictures like this would not exist. This is a problem we should be fixing.

God has not given you equal rights

The image “God has not given you equal rights” demonstrates the inequalities women face in third world countries. The message is proven using attitude to show the men happily walking by the women and not acknowledging her. The women hides her body and face from the men by her clothes and looking down. Women in third world countries are not seen as people by men therefore being denied their rights to feel safe and welcome throughout their community.

I am a Man

I Am a Man
The image "I am a Man" shows multiple men walking down a road at gunpoint, all holding signs saying "I am a Man", except one gentlemen. The man who is not holding the sign happens to be white, where as the rest of the men are black. I believe the message being portrayed is that black men have to prove they are also men, and they are equal to what a white man is, where as a white man has already earned that equality and image of a man. This shows the opposing rights of a white and black man side by side. The attitude shown by the subjects in the image differs between the men with signs and the man without. The men carrying signs look worried and in a single filed line with good posture, where as the man without looks very lackadaisical and relaxed. This shows that the men holding the signs believe they are at risk during this protest because of their race where as the white man seems confident and does not seem threatened by the men holding the guns. This shows the inequality portrayed during this time period as whites and blacks were not treated equally.

I Am A Man

I Am A Man.

I think that this image demonstrates that black people are not considered equal or even as humans to white people. One of the textual elements is the contrast between the black men and the white man. As you can see the white man does not have a sign saying I am a man on it because he is seen as a man to all the other white people. But the black men are seen as just workers or slaves not actually as human beings. The image shows how unequal the different races and colours are.  The contrast between the men bring out the strong message that black people aren't seen as real people and just objects.

I Am A Man

The image “I Am A Man” conveys the message that despite the ethnicity, everyone should have equal rights. The sign that reads “I Am A Man” symbolizes the discrimination happening in this time period. Every individual with a sign is African American. During this time period black employees were not given the same rights as the white employees in Tennessee. In an attempt to gain economic equality the black employees went on a march lead by Martin Luther King. The soldiers pointing guns at them show America’s effort in getting rid of foreign cultures.

I Am A Man

The photo I Am A Man  shows the abused and fed up black society of America in the 1950's. The message that is conveyed, is that America's uniform culture is trying to drive minorities out. The identical uniforms of the soldiers  symbolizes America's aggressive society and their attempt to be rid of foreign minorities. The identical uniforms is a representation of America's society because the aggression that is portrayed with soldiers is also portrayed with the racist culture that doesn't want to have a diverse society.

I am a man

The photo "I am a man" is showing black men trying to prove that they are equal. The message is that even thought they may be from a different ethnicity they should have the same equal rights as white men. All of the soldiers wearing their same uniforms is a symbol showing how there is two sides, the white perfect men, and the the dirty black men, which is why they are fighting for equal rights. The fact that they have similar uniforms show how these men are trying to separate the good from the bad, It is showing how the soldiers and white society wants america to be.

Rights of Women In Afghanistan

The image “God has not given you equal right” conveys a very powerful message to the world about the culture of Afghanistan and where women really stand in their society. Women are treated unequally in this society , like they do not have a voice or say in their decisions. As if they don’t even own themselves but the men do and control everything they do. Just like the title states these women do not have equal rights. In this photo there are so many men, and only one women, as though she is being overpowered by these men, like the men are more important. We do not see the woman's face either, why is this ? Its like she is invisible, the fact that she is there doesn't matter. We know nothing about her. By why are the men’s faces showing? Because in this society they are important, they have all the rights.. they’re voices are the only ones that are important and looked up to. Its as though this women in this photo is just a shadow, nothing more, the men do not even acknowledge that she is there. She is the focal in this image, so important to our views on their society, but not important to them. The image is a huge eye opener for the world and demonstrates powerfully how these women are really treated in this society, how much different it is than here in Canada. The photo is so simple yet so moving and compelling. It really gets across the message of the mistreatment of women in Afghanistan.

I AM A MAN

i think the message portrayed in this image is the reaction of white people when a minority group is having a peaceful protest, the precautions taken buy the white people is far too drastic, but because the minority group is seen as dangerous people this is how the white people in government power decided to react.

The textual element that stands out the most is symbolism, the signs the men are holding are very powerful in a way that they are trying to voice an opinion even though they are seen as inferior and not many will listen. The signs represent who they are, and that is the same as everyone else

The sun shines for the men

The photo, “God has not given you equal rights” displays sexism in the Afghan culture with the message of a man being higher up, better than a woman who has to stay in the shadows.  The light of the photo displays happiness and all being well in the men's minds. They can see the sun and enjoy it. The women on the other hand is stuck under layers of clothing from head to toe, covered from the light, from the happiness and freedom. You can not see her face, her emotion, this mirrors the idea that her emotion does not matter, does not need to be seen. The males on the other hand are smiling, full face showing. The males also outnumber the women, symbolizing strength and power in favor of the men.
