The image “I Am A Man” conveys the message that despite the ethnicity, everyone should have equal rights. The sign that reads “I Am A Man” symbolizes the discrimination happening in this time period. Every individual with a sign is African American. During this time period black employees were not given the same rights as the white employees in Tennessee. In an attempt to gain economic equality the black employees went on a march lead by Martin Luther King. The soldiers pointing guns at them show America’s effort in getting rid of foreign cultures.
